For Singtel's retail experience, we designed and built an arcade basketball game installation that made the abstract advantages of 5G concrete and competitive. The premise was intentional: rather than explaining 5G's speed and latency through specifications, we designed an experience that let visitors feel the difference through gameplay.
The installation demonstrated 5G's capabilities across several concurrent layers. Ultra-low latency enabled real-time gameplay with multiple users connected simultaneously. Augmented reality elements overlaid the court with visual enhancements. A dynamic leaderboard updated scores instantly, making the speed of data exchange something players could observe and compete within. Each element was chosen to illustrate a specific 5G advantage in a way that gameplay made immediately legible to a retail audience.
An arcade basketball experience with augmented reality overlays and visual enhancements, making the physical game feel technologically differentiated in a way that connected directly to Singtel's 5G proposition in the retail environment.
A dynamic leaderboard updating in real time, demonstrating 5G's rapid data exchange capabilities through something visitors could observe and compete within during their time in the store.
Designed to run with multiple users connected simultaneously without performance degradation, allowing the game to serve as a live proof of 5G's network advantage in a high-footfall retail setting.
