NGS Pass Dispenser

NGS Pass Dispenser

For the National Gallery Singapore, Texture developed a pass dispenser system allowing visitors to independently collect e-tickets purchased online or at the gallery, reducing queue load at manned counters and giving guests a faster, self-serve path to the exhibitions.

The system handled multiple ticket types within a single interface, supporting standard admissions alongside concession tickets requiring IC verification, and included a sticker collection mechanic that gave visitors an additional reason to engage with the kiosk beyond simple ticket collection.

Self-Serve Ticket Collection

Visitors who had pre-purchased tickets online or through a booking system could collect and print them at the pass dispenser without joining a counter queue. For the National Gallery Singapore, where visitor numbers are significant and the entry experience sets the tone for the visit, removing a routine friction point from the arrival journey had a real quality-of-visit impact.

IC Verification for Concessions

Concession pricing for different visitor categories required IC verification to maintain pricing integrity. The system handled this within the same self-directed kiosk flow, so eligible visitors could claim the right ticket at the right price without staff involvement, and without a separate concession queue that would have negated the efficiency of self-service entirely.

Sticker Collection Integration

The sticker collection mechanic gave the pass dispenser a secondary purpose beyond ticket retrieval: a touchpoint that encouraged visitors to return and engage with the gallery across multiple visits. For a public institution whose success depends on repeat visits and community engagement, that kind of low-friction collectible mechanic can drive meaningful behavioural reinforcement.
